Two decades, one department.

Depth that only continuity can build — a consultant who knows his hospital, his equipment, and his patients from the inside.

Clinical practice

A career inside one institution.

Dr. Bhatnagar joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre in 2002, and has practised there ever since — through residency, clinical associateship, and senior residency, to his appointment as Consultant in 2014 and his present role as Senior Consultant.

Staying in one major hospital across a whole career is increasingly rare — and it is exactly what builds the depth of judgement that cancer treatment demands. He knows the department's equipment, its protocols, and the long arc of his patients' care in a way few visiting specialists can.

Teaching & academics

A practitioner who teaches.

Alongside clinical work, Dr. Bhatnagar has been engaged in the teaching and training that a DNB-accredited department carries — guiding residents through the discipline of treatment planning, contouring, and the careful judgement that radiation oncology requires.

The same analytical temperament that shapes his clinical work informs how he explains it — to trainees, to referring physicians, and above all to patients and their families.

Socially responsible

Carrying cancer awareness into the community.

Early detection saves lives — and reaching people before a diagnosis is as much a part of the work as treating one. Dr. Bhatnagar has taken part in community breast-cancer awareness camps in Delhi, including programmes run with Enactus and the Sangeeta Mishra Memorial Foundation for Cancer Research, speaking plainly to the public about prevention, screening, and what a cancer diagnosis really means.

It is the same instinct that shapes his consultations: demystify the disease, and meet fear with clear information.

What two decades cover

The breadth of the practice.

Experience encompasses the management of all types of malignant and benign tumours, across the full range of modern radiation delivery.

Conformal & image-guided delivery

3D-CRT, IMRT and IGRT — shaping the dose to the target and verifying position before each treatment.

Stereotactic radiation

SRS and SBRT for precisely localised disease in the brain and body, delivered in few high-dose sessions.

Volumetric arc therapy

RapidArc-style rotational delivery — fast, conformal treatment that wraps dose around the target.

HDR brachytherapy

High-dose-rate internal radiation, including the gynaecologic applications it is most relied upon for.

CT-simulation & planning

Mapping each patient's anatomy precisely so a plan can be built and checked before any dose is given.
