Dr. Anshul Bhatnagar is a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi — where he has practised for over two decades.
He graduated MBBS with Honours in Anatomy and Pharmacology, then completed his post-graduate training in Radiotherapy (DNB) at Batra Hospital itself. He has remained at the institution throughout his career — progressing from resident to clinical associate to consultant, and serving as Consultant in Radiation Oncology since 2014.
That continuity is, in itself, a credential. Cancer care is a long relationship as much as a treatment, and his patients are looked after by a consultant who has spent twenty years doing this work — in one department, with one team, for the people of Delhi and the wider NCR.
Radiation oncology is among the most exacting of the cancer specialties: the task is to place a precise dose of radiation on a tumour while sparing the healthy tissue that surrounds it. It rewards method, patience, and an analytical temperament — and punishes shortcuts.
Dr. Bhatnagar's practice spans the full range of modern techniques — intensity-modulated and image-guided radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and body radiotherapy, volumetric arc therapy, and high-dose-rate brachytherapy — applied case by case to whichever approach the individual patient and tumour call for.
A cancer diagnosis arrives as fear and a great many questions. Dr. Bhatnagar's first task with any patient is to make the situation clear — what the disease is, whether radiation has a role, what the treatment will involve, and what to expect at each step. The science is precise; the conversation is unhurried.
